Our client is an international food producer of meat, meat products and plant-based alternatives with production locations in the Netherlands and Germany. The client has sales support offices in thirteen countries worldwide. And has four different kind of business units.

They supply customers in their home markets of the Netherlands and Germany, as well as in other countries all over the world. Their headquarters is located in the Netherlands.

They offer a challenging and inspiring working environment in which innovation is an important driver and the recent IT activities reflect this focus on innovation. Examples are the renewal of the Master Data Management System (MDM), updating of the BI environment, start of the ERP renewal program, implementation of an API Management system and the startup of Blockchain and cloud initiatives.

The workplace has recently been updated with new devices, Windows 10, O365 and together with other departments the usage of Powerapps has started. Last but not least: they have updated Connectivity by the usage of SD-WAN and are currently busy with the replacement of the WIFI network (worldwide) by a cloud-based solution and renewal of the telecom solutions on all locations.

Our client offers an informal, non-hierarchical organisation with direct user/customer contact. The team members are proud and motivated professionals, split over 5 departments: Service Delivery Management, Infrastructure, Global Business Solutions, CIO office and Project & Changes.

The IM&T (Information Management & Technology) departments responsibility is to keep all IT systems up to date and by doing so, support all business processes. Besides maintenance the department is responsible for the development of technical & services roadmaps and the digital agenda for the organisation, their customers, partners and colleagues. IM&T consists out of circa 150 colleagues stationed in our HQ office in The Netherlands, Hannover and Munich and together they are responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of all applications and Infrastructure components.

The Infrastructure department is currently being reshaped into a “Demand-Supply Organisation” and is focusing on continuously improving and updating the technical environment. They are in an exciting phase with lots of interesting challenges, changes and progress.


As a Solution Architect working for our client, you’re the technical lead for your Services: Telecom & Collaboration. Internally this role is known as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and within this role you will be focusing on planning, managing and organizing your services, projects and initiatives, which will be aligned with the requirements from internal clients (worldwide).You’ll be working closely together with the Domain Architect, the SME’s in other fields of expertise and the suppliers to ensure the Infrastructure department delivers the services the organisation can rely upon.

  • Formulating objectives on a strategic and operational level, keeping track of technological developments, initiating innovation & improvements and setting standards and priorities;
  • Contribute to the translation of business requirements into functional and technical requirements regarding the service;
  • Participate and manage project groups (including employees from suppliers) in accordance with uniform project guidelines;
  • Supervising, checking and evaluating work performed by external suppliers in accordance with guidelines and contract agreements with external parties;
  • Management and supervision of maintenance and updates to installations to guarantee quality and continuity;
  • The provision of data for the purpose of annual budgets and long-term financial provisions and monitoring of current budget;
  • Provide management information and reports to both the IT manager and internal customers.

Functie eisen:

  • Deep understanding of the domain specific solutions, technologies and systems such as:
    • Microsoft Office365: Skype for Business, Skype Enterprise Voice, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Power Apps, OneDrive, Exchange;
    • Awareness/knowledge of (legacy) systems like Mitel and Dect telephony;
    • Awareness of relevant technologies in the wider industry, and their strengths and weaknesses;
  • Able to engage with delivery and ops personnel on complex technical issues and take ownership;
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues to non IT-experts and to persuade and influence key stakeholders;
  • Can-Do mentality and focus on operational excellence;
  • Teamwork, good communication & organizational skills where presupposed with a well-developed and strong character;
  • 5+ years experience in corporate environments and at least 2+ years in similar role;
  • ITIL V3/4 Foundation certification;
  • Within IM&T, English is the communication language, so experience in this language is requested;
  • Knowledge and experience of German (in word and writing) is considered a pre;
  • The willingness to make business trips to Germany;
  • The willingness to participate in standby shifts.
